Hulls and
foredecks 32sq m x 8mm western red cedar strip 50mm wide strips
9sq m x 8mm western red cedar strip 25mm wide strips. 5m 3" x 2"
cedar for outer stems 40kg 400g biaxial glass (must be compatible with
epoxy) 60kg epoxy glue. 10kg polyurethene glue (for glueing strips).
Glass and epoxy also used for some decking joints. 15L epoxy hi-build
paint (recommend two different colours) plus ordinary fillers as
reqd. Bulkheads, bunk tops etc 6 mm ply 3 sheets. Beams,
beam boxes 6 mm ply 3 sheets Aft decks, dagger board boxes 6 mm ply 3
sheets. Daggerboards 18 mm ply 2 sheets Central cuddy 9 mm
ply 3 sheets, 6 mm ply 5 sheets, 4 mm ply 5 sheets Cockpit 9 mm ply 2
sheets, 6 mm ply 2 sheets Use best quality gaboon throughout. Plywood
should be BS 1088 or equiv. Sheet sizes are 8' x
4'.
TIMBER: 200m 2" x 1" (some is ripped down to make 1"
x 1" when reqd) Use yellow cedar, sitka spruce or similar unless noted.
Note sizes are nominal & should be planed allround, i.e. final size of
1" x 1" P.A.R. is 20 x 20 mm.
MISC: Approx 500g 1"
Gripfast nails, 500g 3/4" gripfast nails. 200 1" x no 8 brass screws,
approx 20 3" brass screws Paint as required for min of 3 coats on
outside, 2 coats on inside. 1 sheet 8' x 4' 6mm perspex for windows,
washboard. Large timbers (eg 6" x 3") for building frame. 12m
required 3 sheets 12mm ply (min thickness) for building frames.
