Building 1

flat panels laid up and cut to shape

Photo shows the hull panel of a grp version laid up and cut to shape prior to offering up to bulkheads. Note foam stringers and solid glass panel used on this boat. Option is to use a foam sandwich panel, lighter but more expensive.

Bulkheads set up ready for fitting hull panels

Bulkheads are set up on a strongback. Temporary backbone inserted between bulkheads to stiffen structure and create fair keel line. Note notches for stringers

Hull still upside down, but panels fitted and keel joint made

The hull panels are now lifted up into position and the keel joint made. Panels are also glassed to the bulkheads. The keel joint should then be faired and the whole boat painted while still upside down as its a lot easier.
