Mirage - 36ft Open Deck Cruiser

This design is a development of the Mira. It has hard chine hulls and centreboards. LAR keels are an option as are several different rigs

The standard accommodation layout has been arranged so that a live-aboard couple can live entirely in one hull, leaving the other free for children, guests etc.

The Mirage hard chine hulls are similar to those on Romany. The photo below shows the second hull of Mirage no 3 being turned over singlehandedly. This boat is in Florida. Mirage 1 is in Canada, Mirage 2 in Panama

The same boat on launch day. Obviously still some work to do, but floating nice a high on its marks.

Plenty of room inside, the bunks are 1.2m (4ft) wide with good sitting headroom

A builders quote "We are loving life with Libe. We installed the screecher which turns out is absolutely necessary during the summer in Florida in light air. Libe is doing great, today we passed a Maine Cat 30 on a close reach in very light air, us with screecher and main, him with screecher, jib and main. We were on auto pilot and trolling two lures ( we even caught a nice bonito and a small barracuda eventually). In the gusts we were even faster."

A year later he wrote:

"Libe is fantastic! We are getting used to Port Everglades to Government Cut in 2 hours. Never passed yet by anything under sail. Production cats are left behind many miles regularly. Last Sunday we held 13.8 solid for a little while. We weren't surfing either since we passed several waves, just got the right downdraft I guess".
