Woods Designs have joined the 21st century and our preferred plan delivery method is now to supply you with electronic downloadable versions of our plans. The downloaded plans are identical to the paper plans, as they are simply professionally scanned electronic copies of the original drawings. The benefit to you is that not only can you get the plans immediately, but because we have to do less work printing them out and arranging physical shipment we can also dramatically reduce the price.

Beach Cats & Dinghies

This range of rowing and sailing dinghies and off the beach catamarans compliment the larger catamarans designed by Woods Designs.

All the boats are designed for home building using stitch and glue techniques in plywood and epoxy. The designs vary from the Crayfish yacht tender through the sea going rowing boats Bee and Linnet to the beach catamarans Pixe, Quattro 14 and Quattro 16.

Under 25ft

The 25ft and under range of designs comprise a variety of trailable boats, either with an open deck layout or with a central cuddy.
These boats are suitable for daylight or overnight coastal and "cross-channel" sailing.

25ft to 30ft

The 25ft - 30ft range of designs comprise a wide variety of open deck and bridgedeck boats.
These boats have limited load carrying ability and so if sailing long distances you will have to be careful not to overload them.

30ft to 40ft

The 30ft - 40ft range of designs comprise a wide variety of open deck and bridgedeck boats.
These boats have added load carrying and increased seakindliness compared to smaller designs so are more suited for offshore sailing.

Over 40ft

The over 40ft range of designs comprise both open and bridge deck cabin boats.
All these designs are more suited for offshore sailing. We do not recommend home builders to attempt a boat over 40 ft unless experienced and want a boat for charter or long term cruising. Most families will find that boats under 40 ft will comfortably meet their needs.

Product Description Price
Eclipse Log book As you know, I have been cruising on my Eclipse catamaran for a couple of years. I have been putting a basic log book on the web site to keep you updated on my progress. But I also have a full log book available to download as a .PDF file. The log book is over 300 pages long and contains thousands of words, and hundreds of photos and maps. As a result it is a large file (approx 9MB).

An extract from this log book won the 2004 Venture Trophy, presented by MOCRA (the British Multihull Association) for the best multihull cruising story published in 2004.

Please Note: Download orders are final and not refundable. There is NO REFUND if the item is received by a successful download. So please ensure that you are purchasing the correct file(s) before ordering!!

If the customer is unable to successfully complete a delivery to a computer AND Applies within THREE (3) calendar days of the initiation of the transaction a full refund of the purchase price may be credited to the users account. However if the WINZIP file appears to be defective, we will replace it with a file of the same title once we determine that the file was in fact defective, or at our discretion, send the paper plan equivalents at no extra charge
